Local Food and Food Security
In our second episode, we talk about the local food scene in Iowa. We spoke to members of the Johnson County community and learned how their day-to-day actions help improve food security in the state.
Our conversation starts with Ilsa DeWald, the Johnson County Local Food Coordinator. Ilsa explained the opportunities and obstacles in maintaining a strong local food scene.
Later, we talked to John Boller (Executive Director of Coralville Community Food Pantry) and Rob Rogers (a volunteer at the Coralville Community Food Pantry). John and Rob discussed food insecurity in Johnson County and how the food pantry provides for those in need.
Our second episode is scheduled to be released to the public in late May.
