Episode #3

The Business of Sustainability

In our third episode, “The Business of Sustainability,” Amina Grant takes you through the sustainability aspects businesses consider every day.

We started by interviewing Alicia Simmons, the Sustainability Manager at Frontier Co-op. Alicia gave us a quick inside look on how an Iowa business tackles sustainability.

Next, we talked with Jon Radtke, the Water Sustainability Program Director at Coca-Cola North America. Jon gave us an overview on how a national corporation handles sustainability and how it affects Iowa.

Then, we spoke with Tim Wise, the Director of the Land and Food Rights Program in the Small Planet Institute. Tim gave us quite the insight on the agricultural business overseas and how Iowans (and America) could learn from international small-family farmers.

To wrap up, we reviewed the episode with Sara Maples, the Research Support and Sustainability Manager at Tippie College of Business and adjunct Lecturer at the University of Iowa.
